We’re thrilled to announce that Captain Alex Gorichky has officially joined Team DoGooder, where he will work closely with Project SeaSafe’s Conservation Director, Cory Redwine, on the New Swell Mangrove Restoration initiative. Known for his passion for Florida’s coastal waters and a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship, Alex will be a valuable force in driving Team DoGooder’s hands-on conservation work and inspiring more people to take part in protecting our natural habitats.
Born and raised on the Space Coast, Alex’s life has always revolved around Florida’s waterways. With deep expertise in offshore and inshore fishing, diving, and local ecology, he brings an intimate understanding of the region’s ecosystems and a dedication to preserving them for future generations. His partnership with Cory Redwine at Project SeaSafe is already producing meaningful impacts through initiatives like the IRL Clam Restoration Project and New Swell Mangrove Restoration, which aim to restore balance to the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding areas.
Alex’s role in the New Swell Mangrove Restoration Project allows him to directly engage with mangrove habitat restoration—an essential effort in stabilizing shorelines, enhancing biodiversity, and protecting Florida’s fragile coastal ecosystems. Under Cory’s leadership, Alex’s work with Project SeaSafe and Team DoGooder goes beyond advocacy; it’s a shared mission of actively protecting and rejuvenating the waters they both call home.
